Why You Should Join JAWS Society
Our membership continues to grow - we now have over 220 members for 2014! We are very pleased to welcome new members to our organization. Being able to share information and ideas with more and more OMS managers helps each of us solve problems in our own practices. We encourage new members to look up other members to contact, introduce themselves, and begin networking!
We'd love to meet you at our annual conference, so click the link in the menu to navigate to the Annual Conference page, or visit the Event Calendar to view the details and register.
A huge benefit of joining JAWS is having access to other practice managers around the country who encounter the same issues you do. We have a lively discussion of those issues and share our solutions to them in the JAWSSociety.org forums. It is strictly Members Only, so join today to get the support and knowledge of people just like you.
Another exclusive benefit of membership is access to OMSNIC's JAWS-exclusive, administrator-targeted email newsletter. Upon joining JAWS, you will be added to their distribution list, but you are free to unsubscribe at any time if you do not find it as useful as we think it is (and please tell us what we could do to make it better!).

David A. Nye, MHA FACMPE, Center for Oral & Maxillofacial Associates, says:
AAOMS is largely geared toward our providers and creates a very small niche of generic information targeted to the business side of the practices, MGMA’s OMS membership is increasing and we who are members have seen a growing trend of validity and usefulness to it’s data, but JAWS is geared 100% to the OMS practice administrator/office manager.
Jacki Taylor, Southern Maryland Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery:
The JAWS Society membership affords an infinite amount of relatable information to our jobs. If you can’t get a question answered from one of the speakers, there is definitely a member who likely knows it! It is a thrill to be surrounded by such an intimate group of friendly, knowledgeable professionals who are so willing to lend their time and talent to assist you with your career success.
Susan Phillips, Oral Surgery Associates of Milwaukee:
I have been in my current role as a practice administrator for only about a year. The JAWS Society has been invaluable to me in helping me with every aspect of running a practice. The best thing about belonging to JAWS is just knowing that I’m not alone. I have a whole group of people that I can reach out to at any time.
Ruth Whitehurst, Austin Oral Surgery, says:
The rate of change in our oral surgery practices is exponential and not expected to slow down any time soon. Key drivers of change are people (patient & employee) expectations, technology (clinical, business & personal), and information (easily obtained & shared). As professional practice managers with a goal of facilitating successful practices, we must be lifelong learners.
The JAWS Society is the leading source of formal and informal education opportunities for OMS practice managers. Its mission is to promote the professional development of OMS practice managers through peer interaction and educational programs. The relationships and learning experiences that I have had the privilege to share through the JAWS Society have been a key to my successful transition into OMS from a medical specialty, my ability to stay current as changes occur and my learning from the experiences of my colleagues. The benefits of my JAWS Society membership are further enhanced by my participation on the Conference Committee where I have developed a stronger relationship with a core group of OMS practice managers. The JAWS Society is an important tool in my tool box!
Susan Strittmatter, Northern Texas Facial & Oral Surgery, says:
The JAWS Society is the source for support if you are a manager/administrator of an OMS practice. The networking and educational opportunities are unparalleled. Everyone is just like me - serious about quality and committed to excellence.
